Job Title: After School Counselor Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Primary Purpose:
Provide supervision and engaging learning experiences for our students, grades Pre-K(4 yr old)-8th. Successful candidates will be energetic, and kind, and have a desire to positively impact the world via education. The working days follow the school calendar when students are in session. Regular work hours are Mon-Th 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm, Fri 12:45 pm - 6:00 pm.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must pass a fingerprint background check
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to relate to students and adults.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work well with others.

Able to lift 40 lbs.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
Experience:
- Prefer some experience in working with groups of children or youth.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the following duties for the After School Program:
- Planning activities for class each day,
- Planning enrichment activities,
- Parent Communication Conducting the daily activities,
- Assisting with Homework,
- Creating a safe and warm environment,
- Conflict resolution within your class,
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
